Newly Condensed Format to Feature 12 One-Night Tournaments Over 5 Week Season

NEW YORK, (March 28, 2011) — InsideOut Sports + Entertainment announced today that tennis legends Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Jim Courier will headline a newly expanded and reformatted Champions Series circuit with one-night tournaments in 12 cities nationwide this fall.

The Champions Series will feature world-renowned tennis champions competing for ranking points and a bonus pool totaling $1 million that will be shared by the top three finishers at the conclusion of the condensed five-week season. Each of the 12 one-night tournaments will feature four champions paired off in one-set semi-finals, culminating with the winners competing for the title in an eight-game pro-set championship match. Information on the venues, dates, player fields, ticket information and television airings will be announced in the coming weeks.

“The revamped Champions Series format will energize fans with one-night powerhouse events featuring some of the greatest athletes to ever play the sport of tennis,” said Jon Venison, Founding Partner of the Champions Series. “Our focus on a US-based circuit is beneficial to both our fans and corporate partners, making it easier to follow the Champions Series over a five week season.”

“The Champions Series is the perfect platform for me and the other players to satisfy our competitive cravings,” said Jim Courier. “At the same time we will also be participating in top flight events that will help grow the sport of tennis in many US markets which lack big-time professional tennis.”

The Champions Series is a New York-based tennis circuit for champion tennis players over the age of 30, created in 2005 by InsideOut Sports + Entertainment which is co-owned and operated by former SFX executive Jon Venison and former world No. 1 Jim Courier.

In addition to the newly re-formatted Champions Series circuit, InsideOut Sports + Entertainment will also continue to run International Champions Series events.
