With his consistent game, Pioline is one of only a few players to achieve titles on all four playing surfaces. With bold groundstrokes, incorporating power and topspin, he was one of the most dominant French players of all time. Hailing from an athletic family, his parents met while playing volleyball and his mother played for the Romanian national team. Pioline’s resume includes reaching the finals of the US Open in 1993 and Wimbledon in 1997, followed by a semi-final finish in the French Open in 1998.
