BIOGRAPHY

As a stalwart of the Brazilian Davis Cup team, Fernando Meligeni raised the profile for men's tennis in Brazil, eventually captaining the Davis Cup team. Finishing 10 years in the top 100, Meligeni reached a career high ATP ranking of 25, and was a semifinalist at the 1999 French Open. He came closer to an Olympic medal than any other Brazilian player, finishing in 4th place at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympic Games.
