NEW YORK, August 26, 2009 - InsideOut Sports & Entertainment today announced that 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash, fresh off his victory Sunday at the Hall of Fame Champions Cup in Newport, R.I., will join Pete Sampras, Jim Courier and Todd Martin in the field of champions returning to The Palisades Country Club in Charlotte to compete in the $150,000 Breezeplay Championships at The Palisades, to be held September 24-27. The tournament is the sixth of eight events on the 2009 Outback Champions Series, the global tennis circuit for champion tennis players age 30 and over.

Tickets for the event are now on sale and can be purchased at 877-332-TIXX or by visiting www.ChampionsSeriesTennis.com. The Breezeplay Championships at The Palisades will be played over four days with the winner earning $60,000.

Cash won his second career title on the Outback Champions Series Sunday, defeating Courier 6-3, 6-4 to win the Hall of Fame Champions Cup played on the grass courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. Cash also won the title in Newport in 2008, also defeating in Courier in the final by the exact 6-3, 6-4 score. The Australian’s signature win of his career came at Wimbledon in 1987, when he defeated Ivan Lendl in the singles final. He achieved a career high ranking of No. 4 in 1988 and also was a singles finalist at the Australian Open in 1987 and 1988. He played in the debut event in Charlotte back in 2006, posting a 2-1 round-robin record that included a victory over John McEnroe.

The remaining player field will be announced in the coming weeks.

Sampras won the opening event on the 2009 Outback Champions Series, defeating McEnroe in the final of the Champions Cup Boston in February. McEnroe won the second event of the year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, defeating Courier in the final. Sampras won his second title of the year at the Del Mar Development Champions Cup in Los Cabos, Mexico, defeating Patrick Rafter in the final. Courier won his first title of the 2009 season in April at the Cayman Islands, defeating Jimmy Arias in the final. Pat Cash successfully defended his title on the grass courts at the Hall of Fame Champions Cup in Newport, R.I. in August, defeating Courier in the final. Following Charlotte, remaining events on the Outback Champions Series will be held in Surprise, Ariz. (Oct. 8-11) and Dubai, U.A.E. (Nov. 18-21).
